Abstract
350,631. Automatic guns. DESTREE, J., 123, Chaussee St. Pierre, Brussels. April 3, 1930, No. 10638. Convention date, April 13, 1929. [Classes 92 (ii) and 119.] Relates to automatic guns of the kind in which the breech-block 6 recoils under the direct action of the gun gases, such movement being damped by the action of gases tapped from the barrel, and consists in tapping the gases through a duct 3 disposed well in advance of the cartridge 8 and leading to a cylinder 4 so as to exert a forward pressure on a piston 5 rigidly connected by a rod 5a to the breech-block. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the piston is in the form of a sleeve 7 surrounding the muzzle.
