Abstract
344,298. Laminated springs. STEYRWERKE AKT.-GES., Steyr, Upper Austria. May 22, 1930, No. 15800. Convention date, May 23, 1929. [Class 108 (iii).] Semi-elliptic front springs on motor vehicles are constructed with a flexible end permitting longitudinal movement, such movement being damped and limited. The end of the leaf a immediately below the top leaf c is formed into an S-shaped loop the eye of which is pivoted to a fixed pin b in brackets secured to the frame of the vehicle. The upper leaf c is clamped between the leaf a and the eye of the loop so as to give a damping effect and the end c<1> of this leaf projects into the loop and acts as a double stop limiting longitudinal movements.
