Abstract

343,741. Yarn winding machines. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES., Horgen, near Z³rich, Switzerland. Feb. 18, 1930, No. 5442. Convention date, March 2, 1929. [Class 120 (ii).] A stop-motion for winding-frames, with a weightloaded thread guide frame 4 pivoted on a shaft 5, for producing soft cross-wound bobbins for dyeing &c. has a balance weight 8 adjustable on a shaft 7 which is angularly adjustable on a bolt 10, and has a pin 16 pivoted at 17, supported at 15 from the frame 4, and adjustably connected by a screw 18 with a segment 19 which is also mounted on the pin 17 and which carries a thrust pin 21 whereby the winding is stopped when the bobbin attains a diameter dependent on the adjustment of the segment 19. The winding is stopped when the pin 21 moves a wire 22 into engagement with grooves in a knob 24<1> rotating on the shaft 5, thereby rocking an arc 25 about a shaft 26 to effect declutching. The wire 22 may also be engaged by a bent portion 27 of a stop motion 24 which operates on thread breakage or slackening. The arc 25 is engaged by a pin 13 pivoted at 12 and connected by an arm and a spring 13 with a bar 6 contacting with the bobbin, thus constituting a dogging motion. The thread guide has a funnelshaped bore 3 to facilitate insertion of the thread and to retain it.
