Creel arrangements.-In creels of the magazine type as described in Specification 293,439, [Class 142 (iv), Woven fabrics &c.], ballooning of the yarn drawn from stationary cops &c. is restricted by passage through holes in a frame, the holes being connected by slots. Yarn y from a cop Y or Y' passes through a hole 26 in the frame 20, over a wire 35, through a guide 16, between tension discs 15, around a pin 12, and through a guide 17. The wire 35 acts as a support and assists in restricting ballooning. The cop spindles 8 are carried on arms 7 swivelled on upright rods 3, each having a projection 9 to engage with an internal recess x<1> in the top tube X. A slotted plate 30 on the frame is bolted to an arm 21 clamped to a creel upright 4 by a setscrew 23, whereby the holes 26 may be aligned with the axes of the cops, which are directed downwardly towards the guide 16. The yarn end y<1> carried in a recess in the cop tube is knotted or spliced to the commencement end y<2> of the adjacent cop, so that, when a cop is emptied, the yarn traverses the slot 27, allowing the empty spindle to be swivelled back, another cop mounted, and its end knotted up.
