Abstract

354,656. Controlling delivery of yarn in winding machines. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AKT.-GES., Horgen, near Zurich, Switzerland. Nov. 27, 1930, No. 35750. Convention date, Jan. 21. [Class 120 (ii).] A band brake for use with the delivery spools of textile winding machines comprises a band 6 attached at 7, 8 to the ends of a bent spring 9, one end 10 of which forms a loop for engagement with a pivot 11 while another portion of the spring engages an abutment on a rod 12 connected to a tension regulating device 13 so that the pull of the thread 14 moves the spring with the brake band towards or away from the brake drum 5 of the spool 4 and regulates the frictional contact of the band with the drum.
