[Class 34 (ii).] A drying apparatus with chambers d spaced apart is arranged above the main flue i of a boiler furnace, and movable flaps k allow the gases to pass through the spaces g or not; flaps k<1> enable the central part of the spaces to be shut off from the flue. In a modification, a single drying chamber is formed with depending pockets to facilitate contact with the flue gases.
