Abstract
341,348. Distributing fire-extinguishing foam. PYRENE CO., Ltd., 9, Grosvenor Gardens, London.-(Minimax Akt.- Ges.; 12, Neue Wilhelmstrasse, Berlin.) March 29, 1930, No. 10093. [Class 47 (ii).] A device for distributing foam over the surface of burning liquids, particularly suitable for attacking harbour fires, comprises a rigid pipe section which is mounted on a float and can be connected to a foam-generating plant. As shown, a pipe section a is detachably secured by chains i, k to a strut system e .. h mounted on a pair of floats d. The foam supply pipe b may consist of a series of rigid sections which are successively connected together, thereby pushing the floats towards the burning liquid. The units of the strut system are hingedly connected, to facilitate packing.
