Abstract

340,772. Vacuum cleaning-apparatus. AKTIESELSKABET FISKER & NIELSEN and FISKER, P. A., 30, Peter Bangsvej, Copenhagen. Dec. 24, 1929, No. 39482. [Class 8 (i).] In a suction nozzle in which the suction edge is raised above the surface being cleaned, the means for combing the surface is arranged to be moveable in a substantial vertical direction. Fig. 1 shows two slides 4 mounted on the nozzle 1 and connected by bridge-pieces 5. Guides 8 are attached to the bridge-pieces and form guides for the forked ends of the backing 9 of resilient teeth, a wavy spring &c. The teeth may be kept in contact with the surface by their own weight or spring pressure. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which levers 15 provided with teeth 16 are mounted on spindles 14 housed in the bridge-pieces, and Fig. 9 shows a lever 19 provided with a resilient tooth 17.
