Abstract
340,377. Pedicuring-appliances. HOLZ, J., 1, Maximilianstrasse, Pforzheim, Germany. Nov. 18, 1929, No. 35183. [Class 131.] An instrument for removing corns comprises a rotating tool b, Fig. 3, mounted in a bearing secured in a dental engine or like holder head a an extension of which covers the tool except for a recess a<1> which limits the depth to which the tool b can penetrate. The instrument is mounted on a dental hand piece c. The head b may be mounted eccentrically to the axis of the holder head. In a modification (Fig. 5) an ellipsoidal tool b is mounted in a split holder head d, d<1> which is screwed into an adaptor which fits a dental hand piece. The additional slots d<11> permit the escape of chips. In a further modification the instrument is designed as a hand piece to fit directly to the flexible shaft of a drilling machine.
