Abstract

397,112. Cutting instruments for corns, leather, &c. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Feb. 5, 1932, No. 3430. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1931. [Class 81 (ii).] An instrument primarily for cutting corns, but also of use for cutting the surface of leather and other materials comprises a rotary disc knife d having an upwardly bevelled cutting edge d<1> and enclosed, except for a narrow segment, in a two-part casing b, c, the part c having an inclined bearing surface m which forms a continuation of the edge d<1> and is provided with grooves. The parts b, c are secured together by screws, or by a hinge and a spring or other catch, and are formed with bearings h, i for the knife spindle f which is driven by a flexible shaft in a hand-piece k. A yoke-piece l prevents rotation of the casing. In a modification the plate c may be of arched or spherical formation.
