Thermionic amplifiers.-In a push-pull amplifier, the cathodes 14 are connected to a variable point 9 on a resistance 8, at least one of the grids 15 is connected to a second variable point 7 on the resistance or on a resistance 5 in series with it, and the end of the resistance is connected to the negative terminal of the high-tension source. The grid is also connected through a high resistance 11 to the negative high-tension terminal to maintain a grid bias if the tapping 7 accidentally disengages from the resistance 5 during adjustment. Similarly the cathodes are connected to a stationary point on the resistance 8 in case the tapping 9 disengages.
