Abstract
338,556. Ashcroft, E. A. Aug. 20, 1929. Grant of Patent opposed. Ammonium sulphate. - In the extraction of copper from ores &c. as sulphate in which oxygen is used for the oxidation of sulphides present, the oxygen is obtained partly by electrolysis of water and partly from liquid air, the hydrogen and nitrogen also obtained being combined to give ammonia. The latter is used to precipitate copper from the sulphate solutions obtained, the ammonium sulphate then formed being recovered.
