Abstract
285,260. Laury, N. A. March 7, 1927. Zinc carbonate.-Roasted zinc ore is heated at a temperature of 180‹ F. in a 20 per cent aqueous solution of ammonium sulphate, the clear solution being separated by settling, cooled td a temperature not higher than 40‹ F., and saturated with carbon dioxide at a pressure of 20 pounds per square inch in a closed vessel. The precipitated zinc carbonate is separated and washed, while the solution is returned to the leaching tank.
