335,501. Metallges. Akt.-Ges. May 17, 1929, [Convention date]. Acid disodium pyrophosphate is obtained by evaporating in vacuo at say 180-200‹ C. a solution containing phosphoric acid and the requisite amount of sodium chloride. The phosphoric acid may be that obtained by decomposing crude phosphates with sulphuric acid. A statement of the art refers to the production of the salt by reacting alkali chlorides with acid ammonium phosphate and of neutral sodium pyrophosphates by reacting sodium chloride with pyrophosphoric acid.
