Abstract
331,763. Sulzer FrÞres Soc. Anon. Oct. 17, 1928, [Convention date]. Working-fluid supply.-In a gas turbine plant, fuel supplied by a pipe 2 is burned in a chamber 4 in compressed air from a pipe 3. Heat is extracted by water circulated in coils 5 and the steam produced collects in a header 22. The gases thus cooled are used in a turbine 8 which drives an electric generator 10. Steam from the header 22 is used in a piston engine 11 which drives a crank-shaft 14. This shaft drives an air compressor 16, a feed-water pump 17 and, if necessary, an electric generator 18. The exhaust passes to a condenser 13. A steam turbine in series with the engine 11 may drive a turbocompressor, and a first stage compressor may be driven off the shaft of the gas turbine 8. The regulators of the engine 11 and turbine 8 may be interconnected.
