Corset substitutes; bust improvers; abdominal belts. - A device for supporting the human diaphragm comprises a number of suitably shaped strips of elastic material a, b, c which are secured together at the ends d and are arranged to overlap one another as shown so that when tension is applied to the ends the strips move transversely relatively to one another. The bands may be secured near their ends by lines of stitching e, f, which may be parallel, or diverging as shown, or the bands may be provided with stiffeners. The device may be attached to the inside or outside of a brassiere, corselette of other like garment or may be continued as a belt passing round the wearer's body. It may be used on the knee.
