Ventilators.-A ventilator or chimney top comprises upright side and end walls 10, 12, 13, 14, and a cap member 22 mounted between such walls so as to leave, outlet passages 23 for vitiated air, smoke, &c., and one or more transverse baffles 30 are mounted on the outlet passages 23 between the sides of the cap member 22 and the sides 10, 12 of the ventilator. The ventilator is provided with a bottom in the form of inclined members 16, 17, which are provided with an aperture 20 and may be mounted directly on the roof 21 of a building as shown in Fig.5 or be provided with a pipe attached to the roof. The baffles 30 are supported on the bottom members 16, 17. Louvres 34 are fitted below the cap member for the purpose of deflecting rain water which passes to the outside through apertures 35 in the walls 10, 12. When the ventilator is adapted to be built with the roof, the various parts comprising side walls 10, 12, end walls, cap member 22 and baffles 30 are supported above the aperture 20 in the roof 21 by means of suitable frame members and angle irons 43.
