Dress - guards. -.In motor-cars &c. fitted with rear mudguards b, a supplementary mudguard or shield a, adapted normally to cover the front portion of the mudguard b, is mounted on the rear door d, which is hinged to the rear of the door space, the guard a swinging clear of the mudguard b when the door is opened, thus exposing a clean dry portion of the mudguard, in order to prevent the soiling of passengers' clothing. The guard a may be permanently secured to the door, or may be removably attached thereto, as by screw studs engaging threaded sockets in the door. According to the Provisional Specification, the guard may also be applied to a door hinged at the front edge. Specification 322,930 is referred to.
