Trivets.-A cooking attachment for an open fireplace or range, of the kind comprising a box-like member a with an open back g adapted to fit against the front of the fire so as to close it in and enable utensils, placed over openings j in the top, to be heated, is supported in position by forming the top so that it hooks over the top bar of the grate, and the bottom so that it rests upon a projecting fret or the like below the bars. In the construction shown, a hook-like flange e<2>, extending all round the rear edge of the top e, hooks over the top bar, and a seating f<2> extending all round the bottom rests upon a correspondinglyshaped projecting fret. Additionally, hooks n, engaging slots in the side plinths of the grate, may be provided.
