Abstract
283,450. General Gas Appliances, Ltd., and Francis, W. R. Oct. 3, 1927. Gas cooking-stoves; doors.-A front flue in a gas oven is provided in, on, or supplementary to, the door. In the form shown, a back-plate r having the vertical edges bent to a channel-shape is held to the door by lugs q at the bottom and a cross-bar k<1> at the top. The flue thus formed communicates at the top with a flue above the roof g of the oven, by which the gases pass to the outlet. The cross-bar k<1> engages the underside of the roof-plate g to prevent access from the top of the oven to the flue. A modification is described in which the plate r is held by lugs at both the top and bottom of the door. The flue may be cast in the door, or may be complete in itself and either secured to the door or in the form of an independent door. Openings, which may be controllable, may be provided in the false back. The oven shown is provided with a detachable plate e which directs air on to the burner and supports the rear edge of the floor f.
