Cigarette-making machines.-A tape drum for continuous-rod cigarette machines is composed of segments 3 movable radially to vary the diameter of the drum and regulate the speed of the tape. The segments are carried by links 4 pivoted at 6 to the side of the drum, and are drawn inwards by springs 7 so that the links bear against the arms of a spider 8, which is angularly adjusted by an eccentric 10. The segments have recessed engagement with one another at 14.
