Re frigerating, absorption machines and processes for.-An intermittently-acting absorption refrigerating machine includes a condenser comprising coaxial coiled tubes 3<a>, 3<b>, Fig. 1, and an evaporator comprising a tank 5 and a header connected by circulating pipe coils 7. The inlet to the evaporator is above the level of the outlet from the condenser, and a solvent return pipe having a seal 12 is provided between the evaporator and the generator-absorber 1.
