Refrigerating, compression machines and processes for; evaporators; cold-accumulators. - In a compression system in which a high pressure evaporator 4 enclosed in a brine tank 5 is connected to a liquid separator 6, communicating with the compressor (not shown) through a pipe 7, and with a low pressure evaporator 9 through a pipe 8, there is provided between the two evaporators an additional communication 11 with a one-way valve 12. The low pressure evaporator communicates with the compressor through a pipe 10, and the pipes 10, 7 are connected by an ordinary cock 14. The high pressure evaporator thus functions as a cold-accumulator, so that when the compressor is stopped a circulation is set up between the two evaporators owing to the temperature surrounding the evaporator 9 being higher than that surrounding the evaporator 4. The pressure of the vapour in the evaporator 9 increases and the vapour flows through the valve 12 to the evaporator 4 where it is condensed, the liquid passing through the separator 6 to the low pressure evaporator. The high pressure evaporator therefore functions as a condenser when the compressor is stopped. Specification 120,923 is referred to. Arrangements of brine tanks and expansion coils functioning as cold accumulators also are described for use with systems other than those necessarily using two evaporators. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to Specification 125,358, [Class 8 (i), Air and gases, Compressing &c.]. This reference does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
