Abstract
314,265. Gr³be, P. Aug. 17, 1928. Tentering.-The position of one chain guide is automatically adjusted according to the width of the cloth being stretched by means of a shaft 5 which is driven in one or the other direction by clutches 12, 4 and gearing 3, 2 from a driven shaft 1. The clutches are periodically disengaged against the action of a spring 13 by a cam 6 on the shaft 1 and levers 8, 10 and are held out of action by hooked levers 19 one or the other of which is raised to allow one or other clutch to engage by means of a double ended lever 15 engaging one arm 21 of a bell crank, the other end of the same carrying a feeler 20 in contact with the edge of the cloth. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 16135/09, [Class 100 (i), Feeding and delivering webs' &c.].
