Abstract

260,389. Matthews, F. N. Sept. 14, 1925. Rollers and roller heads; delivery, stopping.- In spinning and like machines having each back bottom delivery roller R, Fig. 1, provided with clutch mechanism whereby on breakage of an end the roller is held and delivery ceases, each roller R is engaged with its own top roller T mounted loosely on the shaft T<1>, while the operating mechanism for the clutches permits adjustment of the back rollers towards or away from the front rollers. Each roller R is provided with teeth R<3> R<4>, and is adapted to be driven from a clutch member C or prevented from rotating by a stop C<1>. The clutch-operating fork C<4>, the stop C', and a connecting link C<8> are actuated on breakage of an end by a rotatable shaft C<6>, Fig. 2, through a pivoted yarn-engaging member P, P<1>, P<2>, the end P<2> of which falls into engagement with a cam D and through a spring member rocks an arm A and turns the shaft C<6>.
