312,320. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Winckler, H. G.). May 24, 1928, [Convention date]. Tools: tool-holders.-A turning or like tool is made from the carbide of a. metal of Mendeleef's 6th group alloyed with a metal of the iron group, more particularly tungsten carbide and cobalt. The metal is embedded in a cast shank preferably of grey iron, an alloy bit 1 about # inch square and 2 inches long being embedded for about an inch. The sides 3, 4 include an angle rather greater than a right angle and seat in a correspondingly formed tool steel support 5 cut away at 8, 9 to suit the tool and also at 10. 11 to suit a similar tool of opposite hand.
