Abstract

311,089. Caddick, S. May 4, 1928. Folding vehicles; vehicles convertible into caravans.-In collapsable caravan trailers of the type in which the two sides comprise horizontal panels which are hinged together and to a fixed bottom portion so that the panels can fold inwardly and the roof lowered, the sides comprise a number of longitudinal panels hinged together and to a roof which is formed as a single member and forms a complete roof for the collapsed caravan. As shown, the side walls comprise fixed panels 4 and folding panels 2, 3, the roof 5 being hinged to the panels 2. One end also comprises similar panels 6, 7, 8, the panels 6, 7 folding outwardly as shown in Fig. 2. The other end comprises folding panels 14, 15 hinged to panels 10 and a door 9 the upper part of which is foldable to correspond with the panels 14, 15. In a modification, the foldable parts of the end wall and of the door may be detachable and fixed in position when desired. Seats, tables, beds, &c. are provided in the interior.
