Abstract

309,473. Universal Winding Co., (Assignees of Wolf, E. A. de). April 11, 1928, [Convention date]. Creel arrangements.-A holder 2 for cops or other yarn packages C comprises a support formed of radially-disposed longitudinallyextending ribs 10 engaging the tube c, Fig. 2, and a guard 15 slidably mounted on the support and formed with a concave face so shaped as to clear the tube c and bear constantly against the outer edge of the end of the package C, the guard being spring-pressed against the end of the package to prevent the yarn from slipping or drawing thereacross. The holder 2 is secured in the creel by the clamping members, 3, 7, 9. The guard 15, provided with a felt or like pad 16, is carried by arms 26, Fig. 3, formed on a spider 20 which is slidable on a rod 21 secured axially in the holder 2 and is urged forwardly against the end of the package C by a spring 29 extending between the hub 25 of the spider 26 and the head 22 of the rod 21.
