Blankets.-An offset printing-roller is provided with a layer of highly elastic material, such as sponge rubber, between the printing-surface and the core of the roller. In forming the roller, a mass of the material adapted to form the printing- surface is cast in a liquid form in a flat mould and on it is pressed a layer of sponge rubber. Sheets of woven material or wire netting may be inlaid between the layers or within one of the layers. When the resulting mat has solidified, it is clamped round the core of the roller.
