Abstract

Drying fabrics in long lengths. - To allow for shrinkage of woollen fabrics in tentering and drying machines the fabric is fed on to the tentering chains 2 by rollers 11, 12 . driven by gearing 19 - - 22 from and at a surface speed greater than that of the chains, and the guides for the chain gradually get nearer together towards the exit of the drying chamber. As shown in Fig. 6, the.several horizontal chain paths are carried by vertical bars 3 which can be laterally adjusted simultaneously or independently.
