Abstract

305,289. Garvie, T. B. Nov. 9, 1927. Hay bogies.- An apparatus for transporting: ricks of hay, corn, or the like comprises a frame mounted on wheels e, and having a central long beam a and shorter side beams c. The beams a, c are formed of channel iron and form forwardly projecting prongs. The prongs are drawn under the rick by attaching a chain or rope to the end of the beam a the chain being passed under the rick and hauled by a horse or tractor. After the rick has passed up the prongs the forward end of the bogie is raised by a winding drum i received on two frames j. An auxiliary wheel h is then fitted below the front end of the bogey. In a modification the winding drum is carried on a wheeled frame that is fitted under the front end of the bogey after raising.
