Abstract
300,135. Penteado, T. B. C., and Camargo, M. F. de, (trading as Penteado & Co., B.), (Assignees of Moreira, N. G.). Nov. 5, 1927, [Convention date]. Gravity, materials descending by.-Coffee berries are dried during descent through a chamber with warm air passing to and fro through horizontal perforated tubes therein. Specifications 6859/84, 9378/92, 12490/95, and 15948/00 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of struts 4 of angular cross section in place of the tubes. Air or furnace gas at 30‹ C. is passed by a fan V through compartment A having in its end wall holes registering with the air ducts, and passes cut of the drying chamber by holes registering with the ends of adjacent upper and lower ducts into a compartment D whence it is withdrawn at C. The berries may be collected at the bottom, lifted by an elevator and repassed through the chamber. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
