Abstract
298,592. Aktiebolaget Ljungstr÷ms Angturbin. Oct. 12, 1927, [Convention date]. Regenerators in which the heating and heated fluids flow alternately through the channels of a regenerative mass, have these channels, which extend in the main direction of flow of the fluids, formed of plates or strips, the cross-sectional area of each channel varying throughout its length so that the fluids are subjected alternately to compression and expansion. The regenerative mass 22 contained in a rotary frame 21 comprises corrugated plates 34 the corrugations of which extend in the main direction of flow of the gases, and intermediate corrugated plates 35 with the corrugations extending approximately at right angles to the direction of flow. The corrugations of the intermediate plates 35 may be shallower than those of the plates 34. The rotor 21 is mounted on rollers 23 in a casing 20 divided by a partition 29, and the gases are forced and drawn through the channels by fans 25, 27 on a shaft 24<a>.
