Abstract

297,408. Pearson, D. A. June 22, 1927. Hoods.-In collapsable hoods of the type in which the hoop-sticks are adapted to run on horizontal guide rails by means of pairs of rollers embracing the guide rails, one roller at least of each pair is mounted on a member which is resiliently mounted on the hoop-stick and the degree of movement of the rollers away from each other is limited. As shown the guide rail e is embraced by pairs of rollers the upper one of each pair being mounted on a block h carried by a bracket j rigidly secured to the hoop-stick b while the lower one is mounted on a block h<1> carried by a resilient arm b secured at its remote end to the hoop-stick b. The upper member h is secured to links m having a pin-andslot connection with the lower member h<1> to limit the degree of movement of the lower roller away from the upper roller. The lining r may be secured to the resilient arm l and the member or strip t on the hoop-stick b may be cranked to form a weather excluder with the gutter u on the cant-rail a.
