Abstract
296,173. Bennis, A. W. July 19, 1927. Fire bars of the kind described in Specifications 7418/99 and 29103/13 have the side walls of the troughs tied together by wedge-shape bars d, Fig. 2, and each group of small bars arranged in the troughs composed of outer bars b, Figs. 3 and 4, having lugs b<1> engaging projections on the sides of the trough and inner bars c, Fig. 5, having holes c' engaging with projections b<4> on the outer bars b. The bars b, c are provided with inclined spacing ribs b<3>, c<1>. In the modification shown in Fig. 17, pins f<1> may engage with holes f in the bars to lock them together or pins in the outer bars b may engage with inverted L-shape slots in the bars c. Fig. 25 shows a further modification in which the outer bars b are slotted at b<6> to engage with lugs a<4> on the sides of the trough and are provided with projections b<4> on their inner sides to engage with inverted L-shape slots in the inner bars c.
