Abstract

295,819. Kress, F. July 26, 1927. Bevels.-A bevel and square of the kind comprising a graduated base rail, a graduated upright rail adjustably mounted thereon and a graduated inclined rail pivoted on the base rail and rotatable over an angular scale is provided with a graduated member slidably mounted on the uplight rail and with another graduated member pivoted at the other end of the base rail. The upright rail b with scale m slides along the base rail a with scale c and may be secured in adjusted position by a clamping screw e, the slide part of the upright rail having a vernier d. The graduated inclined rail g pivoted at f to the base rail moves over a double reverse reading' scale h and is secured in adjusted position by a clamping screw i. The upright rail b has a slider k with vernier l and an inclined stop n for the inclined rail g. The other graduated inclined rail g<1> moving over a double reverse reading scale h<1> is pivoted at the other end of the base rail on a pivot f<1> in line with the lower edge and scale c<1>; the rail g<1> is secured in adjusted position by a clamping screw i<1>. The rail r, Fig. 9, is guided on the rail b by means of members s, t drawn together by the action of a spring n, so that it may be readily removed and placed on one of the other rails.
