Abstract
137,542. Bruckeler, G. M. Jan. 10, 1919, [Convention date]. Tools for setting-out work.-A scribing-block by which vertical, horizontal, and oblique lines may be scribed on work without resetting of the work comprises a base carrying a bracket A in which is mounted a graduated drum D adjustable about a horizontal axis and carrying a radial arm E provided with a longitudinal slot in which a member G carrying the scribing-point is adapted to be slidden by hand. The drum is secured in adjusted position by set-screws H. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the scribing-block may be used in combination with a T-square, and may be mounted on a horizontally rotatable support. It also states that the T-square " may be provided with rules fixed in the base-plate of the scriber and adapted to slide at their other ends in the head of the T-square," and also that " instead of the manner of guiding the scribing-tool holder G mounted in the slide of the arm E of the scriber, it is also possible to employ any other equivalent mechanism for the sliding movement, or a parallel-motion mechanism serving the same purpose." This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
