Abstract
295,056. Lemoine, (nÚe Trouillet), R. M. L. Aug. 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Direct gas pressure apparatus, non- automatic. - In an atomizing - apparatus for spraying paints, insecticides, a n d other liquids, the end 4, Figs. 1 and 4, of the atomizing tube 3 is connected with a tube 1 storing liquified or compressed gas, such as is described in Specification 250,920, through an unfreezable expansion valve as described in Specification 279,906, [Class 135, Valves &c.], and controlled by the lever 2. The channel 6 passes through a chamber 7 communicating with the outside of the tube the exit being normally closed by a packing ring 9 and movable trigger 11. This trigger is pivoted on bearings 13 screwed into the tube. The compressed gas passes through a chamber 14 fitted with a spring valve 15, which normally closes the end of the channel 6. Beyond the valve chamber is another chamber 21 formed by the extension tube 19, screwed on the tube 3 and a hollow needle valve 28 screwed at 28<1> into this extension. The liquid to be sprayed is in a container 5 which fits a neck 23 in the extension piece 19, the container being also fitted with a dipping tube 25 screwing on to a tube 24 which is also attached to the extension 19. An oblique channel 22 communicates from the chamber 21 to the liquid container forcing liquid through the tube 25 and a channel 26 leading to a channel 27 surrounding the hollow needle valve 28, and thence to the conical channel 32, formed between the end of the valve 28 and an adjustable screw cap 29. This adjustable cap screws into the extension tube 19 through a stuffing box 30, as described in Specification 285,918, [Class 69 (iii), Spray-producers &c.]. The compressed gas can also pass through the hollow valve tube 28 giving an atomized spray through the orifice 31 of the cap 29. The spray can be regulated by the valve of the compressed gas container attached to the tube 3, and modified or stopped by the trigger 11. In a modified construction the trigger control and spring valve chamber 14 are omitted.
