Force-feed lubricating. - A spring-pressed relief valve m is arranged in a chamber u formed within the crank shaft a of a radial-cylinder internal-combustion engine, lubricant entering the chamber past the valve from the supply passages d - - j being delivered through passages v in the crank web c into the crank chamber, where it assists in the lubrication of the engine, and returns to the sump w. The compression of the valve spring n may be adjusted by rotating a member o by means of a rod q having a squared end r, the member o being threaded into a sleeve p and being held in adjusted position therein by spring-pressed plungers s carried by the part o and adapted to engage serrations in the sleeve p. A connection x for a pressure gauge is provided.
