Vacuum tubes.-A cooling arrangement for a discharge device consists of a sleeve which is closely spaced, around the device and is flexibly attached to a casing in which the device is rigidly mounted. As shown, the anode 2 of a thermionic valve is mounted rigidly in a casing 4 supporting by means of a rubber or other flexible connector 9, a metal sleeve 11 which has indentations spacing the sleeve from the anode. A cooling fluid such as water is supplied to the sleeve through a flexible hose 12 and passes to another outlet 13. The sleeve may be corrugated.
