Abstract

288,854. Lutovitch, I. June 21, 1927. Slipping of wheels, preventing.-Skidding of motor and other vehicles is prevented by rollers 1, having roughened treads, mounted on the arms 2 of a scissors device carried by members 3 secured to the vehicle frame. The arms are normally held in a raised position by a vertical link 4 having a pin engaging slots 5 in the arms, the link 4 being connected by a rod 9 normally held by a plunger 10. When the rod 9 is released by depressing the plunger, the rollers 1 drop on the road and any sideways movement of the vehicle increases the pressure between one of the rollers and the road. A tension spring 11 may be provided to move the rollers downwardly more quickly. The Provisional Specification also describes an arrangement in which the rollers are carried by a vertically sliding member.
