Ventilators.-A window frame A comprises a lower glazed part a and an upper ventilating opening e, the outer face of the latter being covered or fitted with perforated metal or wire netting h, Fig. 2, or a grating r, Fig. 7, having louvres r<1>, and the inner face being provided with a hopper or box-like member f projecting into the room and having its inner opening g covered with fine wire gauze, screen &c. m. The perforated metal h may be screwed in position and overlap the upper frame member l. The wire gauze &c. m may be screwed to the side members k of the hopper as shown in Fig. 2, or it may be secured by means of a frame p secured against flanges o surrounding the opening g as shown in Fig. 7. The grating r, Fig. 7, may be arranged in a recess s of the opening e by screws t. The hopper f may have a straight or curved front j and the glazed part of the window may be of fixed, casement or pivoted type.
