Abstract

285,967. Tritch, D. T. Nov. 23, 1926. Vacuum apparatus. - In apparatus wherein a single measuring chamber may be put into communication selectively with a number of sources of supply, the selection is performed by means of a rotary plug cock having a single port 23 controlling the passage of liquid from a number of supply pipes 20 to a pipe 6 communicating with the measuring chamber 1. The plug 22<x> is rotated by a shaft 26 through gears 24, 25 and further gearing 27 sets a disc 44 to indicate the kind of liquid being supplied. An electric or other form of indicator may be used in place of the disc. The liquid is raised to the measuring chamber by a suction pump set in operation by the manipulation of a switch in the casing 80, a valve 82 being simultaneously closed to prevent ingress of air to the vacuum pipe 13.
