Abstract

283,095. Yates, C. H. Oct. 28, 1927. Joint-making packing.-In a gasket for pipe couplings &c. of the type having a central aperture 6 and apertures 8 for bolts, the apertures 8 are made of sufficient width and length to accommodate varying diameters and positions of the bolts, and at least one layer 3 is left imperforate until the gasket is applied to a joint. The gasket may comprise a layer 1 of asbestos between brass &c. sheets 2, 3, with a copper ring 7 around the central aperture.
