[Class 122 (iii).] A packing for pipe joints &c. comprises a casing 1 of malleable metal, e.g. lead enclosing a rubber core 18 wrapped with asbestos 19 preferably impregnated with petroleum pitch. The casing may be cast around the core or formed from two channel members welded together.
