Abstract

279,411. Frei, J., Frei, A., and Fontana, P. Oct. 19, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Pumps, rotary; cylinders, ports of. - A twostroke-cycle engine is charged by a rotary compressor 18 which supplies past two valves 11, 12 moving together. Either mixture is drawn through the compressor or air is pumped fuel being added in the chamber 12 between the two valves. The admission port 10 to the cylinder is uncovered by the piston before the exhaust port 5; a valve 6 controls the exhaust. The fuel is added to the air in such a manner that the first part of each charge consists of air only, which is then followed by mixture. All the valves are worked by cams driven off the crank shaft. The valve 6 closes before the end of the charging period.
