Discharging.-A device'for removing and replacing doors of horizontal coke ovens comprises a trolly r to which a door t is secured, the trolly being mounted on a jib k so that the door is passed through guides h for the discharge of the coke and is then swung to one side free, of the aperture of discharge of the guide. A frame a mounted on rails d, f supports the guides hand the jib k which rotates about a pivot i and has its outer end mounted on rollers n on an arc m. Fig. 3 shows in dotted lines the door swung clear of the discharge opening of the guide h. The coke is discharged from the ovens x on to an inclined ramp z.
