Abstract
321,765. Green, R. W., and Aldridge, J. G. W. Sept. 20, 1928. Moving-chamber apparatus.-Relates to means for operating discharge doors d, e, of supply hoppers automatically by the passage of a travelling charging machine for feeding retorts, coke ovens &c. as in Specification 4712/06, [Class 55, Gas manufacture]. The Figure shows a plan view of the travelling hopper c of the charging machine. Two or more supply hoppers are provided with doors d, e &c. in the line of travel of the hopper c, for delivering two or more materials and the doors are opened and closed by striking-pins on the hopper c engaging levers i, j, pivoted on the supply hoppers, either of the pins being adjustable into operative position at will. The door d is opened by a pin f engaging the lever i, and the door e by a pin g engaging the lever j. Both doors are closed by the pin l engaging the inner ends i<1>, j<1> of the levers. The pins are adjustable vertically by lever and link mechanism to throw them in or out of range of the levers.
