Abstract

276,818. Wilkinson, W. H. Aug. 13, 1926. Washing - machines with rotary dollies.- The dolly is driven by a rack R and pinion P<1> carried by the lid C<1> of the washer, the rack being pivoted thereto at R<2> and having an enlarged end R<4>. The under surface of this end is hollowed and is engaged by a spring-pressed plunger on a crank disc S<2> driven by a vertical shaft. On raising the lid the drive is broken between the disc and the rack. In addition the lid may be mechanically linked to the clutch transmitting the drive to the vertical shaft.
