Abstract

424,812. Washing-machines. FAIRGRIEVE, F. M., 50, Dovercourt Road, Toronto, Canada. Aug. 10, 1934, No. 23153. [Class 138 (ii)] The shaft 31 of a rotary dolly washing- machine is oscillated by the engagement with a pinion 33 thereon of a rack 50 which is reciprocated in a guide 48 from a motor driven shaft 24 through the worm gearing and pitman shown. The guide 48 is formed on a plate 46 which surrounds the shaft 31 and is connected eccentrically to a shaft 37 so that when the latter is rotated by means of a lever 39 connected thereto the rack is moved into or out of engagement with the pinion 33, the aperture in the plate 46 around the shaft 31 being sufficiently large to permit such movement. The lever 39 is held in either of its two adjusted positions and the shaft 37 is encircled by a coiled spring. The gearing is accommodated in a depressed portion of the base plate A.
